Using NLP and Hypnotherapy To Resolve Low Self Esteem

When you have problems with self confidence, they can show up in your life in many different ways.  You might feel shy, or you might avoid situations where you have to stand up for your own opinions.  In very severe cases, the lack of self confidence can create severe anxiety.  Regardless of where you fall in this range, your problem with self confidence can be resolved using NLP and hypnotherapy.

Changing Thoughts And Behaviours

Some people think the problem of self esteem is one that requires extensive therapy to understand your past and explore exactly why you lack self esteem.  In reality, however, developing high levels of self esteem is really about changing your patterns of feelings, thoughts, and behaviours.  Your past experiences are important, of course, but dwelling on them only serves to reinforce your existing patterns.  It is far better (and far more effective) to focus on creating the right patterns in order to create the results you want and deserve.


An underlying concept addressed by NLP and hypnotherapy is that what you think influences what happens in your life.  For instance, if you spend your time telling yourself “I’m not very good at math” then chances are you will get poor grades in math.  Why?  Because your negative self talk has created a negative reality in your life.  So when you change your self talk to be positive and get rid of the habit of continually criticising yourself, everything begins to change.  The new way you talk to yourself creates a very positive reality in your life.

The best way to build your self esteem is to target your conscious and unconscious mind in a two pronged approach.  NLP and hypnotherapy techniques work together to address conscious patterns of thought and behaviour, while also teaching your unconscious mind to change its patterns of thought as well.  The two components integrate with each other to create the results you need. 

How Long Will Treatment Take?

The length of treatment will vary depending on your specific self esteem issues and the severity of your negative self talk patterns.  In general, most people can be treated successfully in one, two or three one-hour sessions, but if your issues are deeper or more complex it may take up to six sessions to achieve full results.  Regardless of the specifics of your case, your practitioner will work with you to resolve the problem in as few sessions as possible.
